This bag looks great, whether you choose it studded or not.  If this is the style you have selected for your bike, great choice. The size is good, 18 in. x 13 in. x 5 in.  Carrying capacity is not bad, about 10 pounds per side. To get the best bag possible look for some of these features.

This leather is in it’s most natural state so it will be the most durable.

Easy to see why this is a good idea.

Another good idea because your bag is exposed to the elements.

Got Sagging Bags?
Even with the best constructed bag this can happen.  After time the bag starts to sag.

It is just the nature of a bag used on a motorcycle.  The best solution, so you don’t have to buy a new bag, is to get rid of the sag.  The way to do this is to get leather lid inserts Saddlebag Reinforcements.  They are made to fit Harley Davidson slant saddlebags (and all other leather saddlebag styles as well).  The leather insert is attached inside the lid and makes the bag retain it’s shape.

Mounting Brackets
Saddlebags do not come with mounting brackets.  Permanent mounting isn’t a good idea.  Permanently attached bags are hard to clean around and attachment can cause surface damage to your bike.  You don’t see many permanently attached bags any more.   There are different bracket options.  Check with the dealer you bought your bag from to see what they recommend.

Turn Signal Relocation
This isn’t a big deal and isn’t that hard to do.  As a way to estimate if you will need to do this, measure from the back of the turn signal to where you lower back would be on the seat.  Then measure from the exhaust pipe to about 3 inches under the top of your back fender.   You need to have at least one-inch space between your bag and the exhaust pipe.  Very important for obvious reasons.  Before you buy, check with your saddlebag dealer to confirm it will fit on your bike.
